Remembering this past year, since the removal of the Confederate Flag

One year ago I captured this image. One year ago today was the day before the confederate flag was removed from the SC Statehouse. I am still amazed, confused, and concerned about the things that have happened over this past year. I also find so much irony in the events that have happened this past week, one year after the confederate flag was removed in SC. I know today that flags and guns are not the only vehicle hate can be channeled, the human spirit is the ultimate driver of these horrible actions. With this premise and realization, I must come to the conclusion...many of our brothers and sisters are hurting inside, their human spirit has been broken, taken to a place where anger is only a small portion of their cry for change. I realize today that we must listen, we must pray, and we must become ever more intentional in our discernment for a better tomorrow. #LoveWins #BlackLivesMatter
