The power of community and the heart of a mother with a determined spirit. #AIM #WACS

Today was an unbelievable day…I have met many women in my life that have inspired me; and Ashley Hall moves to the top of the list. I think of my mother who sacrificed so much when she was going to Clemson getting her Nursing BSN while Jennifer and I were in high school and junior high. There is something about a determined mother that will do anything to make life better for herself and her children. Ashley Hall has beat the odds! With the help of AIM and the WACS program, Ashley raised her two children, went back to school starting at Tri-County Tech and then Clemson where she graduated in 2015 and now works at Clemson in student affairs as a creative writer. She did this while almost homeless, loosing dependable transportation, her children in the hospital, and so many other barriers. She did it…and during our interview today, I crossed over from a brand journalist to one that cried right alongside her as she shared her path. AIM’s WACS program is amazing and it is empowering women just like Ashely Hall, right here in Anderson, SC to make a better life for themselves and their families. #Canon #5dmarkiii
