This was such a little impromptu moment. #twinslife #rettew5

This was such a little impromptu moment. Sarah wanted to capture images of the twins for their one-month milestone. With Rosebud, she captured a picture each month so we can watch her progress. We would put her in her rocking chair, in the same spot each month and capture an image. We are doing the same with the Twins.
The twins room is now Rosebud’s old room and the rocker above is nearly in the same position, just a different rocker. As we were setting up for the photo session, Sarah wanted to mirror how we captured Rosebud. So we put George and Henry in the rocker, propped up on the pillows, and I held down the shutter button. Lots of fun images started to emerge. I was completely focused on looking through the view finder, and then I happened to see something change in my peripheral view. As I widened the shot, Rosebud had secretly wiggled her way behind the rocker and appeared from behind. She was quietly resting her face on the back gazing peacefully at the twins.
At first, Sarah wanted her to go put on some nice clothes, but I just started capturing more images. With that endearing look of innocence and peace peering through the lens of the camera…I clicked as fast as I could. I did not care she was wearing her pajamas.

As I have said many times, “Stories are made up of little micro-moments, it is up to us storytellers to capture and share these micro-moments for others to contextualize these experiences.” This moment reminded me why having the twins completed our family…Rosebud is in love! #twinslife #rettew5 #canon #5dmkiii
