Katharine Marie Weddings is a bridal boutique and wedding planning company located in downtown Anderson. This company is dedicated to helping every bride that walks through their doors make easy decisions and lifelong memories surrounding their big day.

This business was started in 2019 by Allie Walker, an Anderson, SC native who followed her dreams into the wedding business. The business was created in honor of her great, great aunt whose name was Katharine and her late mother whose middle name was Marie.

Katharine Marie Weddings not only serves the community with their wedding services, but with their heart as well. With a commitment to leaving legacies beyond the wedding day, they financially support one local and one international charitable organization. Locally, they support Haven of Rest Women’s Program located in Anderson, SC. They also support Humanity and Hope United Foundation in Honduras.

Allie Walker was very welcoming, and it was a pleasure meeting her and telling her story. It was a great opportunity getting to work with a local business and make connections within the community.

This video story was crafted and produced by digital media students from Anderson University’s Communication Program. As an Assistant Professor of Communication and owner of Rettew Creative, Bobby Rettew led a team of students in the COM 351 Corporate Video Production class to create these stories. This project provided a unique opportunity where students were able to leverage their technical video production skills along with enhancing their soft skills by interacting with clients and connecting with the downtown Anderson business community.

Each class Bobby Rettew shares, “Video production is more than the technical knowledge necessary to capture the story, but also the culmination people management skills and the ‘Tetris’ game of managing all the stakeholders calendars. To find and tell stories, you must know how to work with people and meet them where they are!”
